Our story
In our hometown of Torrington, Connecticut, the Kenney family is known for their passion of cooking and baking. While it is partially driven by the art of the craft itself, the true root of our passion is the love of sharing a good meal with the ones we love.
For the last decade and a half, there have been quite a few Celiac Disease diagnoses within our family. Patti Kenney (AKA Mama K) took it upon herself to start experimenting with family recipes and turning them gluten-free so we could all enjoy them still; and those that don’t require a gluten-free diet can enjoy them just the same too.
Spreading the love
Mama K’s Cookie Jar was founded to share this labor of love to others that find themselves missing out too. Not missing out in just the act of sharing a treat, but because we know that memories live in taste and flavor. And the joy of knowing that someday, even if you’re by yourself, you can take a bite of the same food and be transported to that time past.
We could not be more excited to be back in business; Mama K’s Cookie Jar abruptly closed at the end of 2022 so that Mama K could battle Triple Negative Breast Cancer. We feel incredibly blessed that she is still here today and thriving. Now she’s ready to get back to the work she loves and share a treat with you and yours!
